The local dining scene is a treasure trove! Tried some epic curries at Taj Mahal, and the hearty steaks at Como en Casa Parrilla Tica Argentina were unforgettable. Plus, the owner was super helpful with early morning taxi calls!
The bathroom's non-heated shower might catch you off guard, especially for those who enjoy a cozy warm-up. And, let's be honest, that toilet space is a bit snug for taller folks!

Duerme Tranquilo in Alajuela offered a great experience for my overnight stay. Socorro made check-in a breeze at 2am, welcoming me with clear directions despite the late hour. The convenience of being just 2 miles from the airport was a huge plus. My single room felt homey with a comfy bed, perfect for a rest before my flight. Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. was a highlight, featuring delicious eggs, meat, and tortillas that started my day right. I loved the cozy back patio filled with vibrant plants, providing a peaceful spot to relax. On the downside, the bathroom could use an upgrade. The non-heated shower was chilly, and the toilet space felt a bit cramped, especially for taller guests. Overall, a clean and safe place ideal for solo travelers on a budget.

missingWrote a review on 15 Octcozy atmospheresolid breakfastproblematic layout
The cozy atmosphere is a bonus for solo travelers looking for a place to rest after a long day. Breakfast includes eggs and tortillas, providing a solid start to the day.
The room layout is problematic, with wardrobes obstructed due to bed placement, making it unusable. The bathroom lacks a sink, requiring guests to use a utility room sink when water is available, which isn't ideal. Also, water was unavailable for 1.5 days during a 3-night stay, and the TV didn’t work due to a missing remote, resulting in a less than satisfactory experience.

I had a lovely stay where the owner surprised me with warm homemade cake upon arrival, which was such a nice touch! The cozy back patio and inviting common areas were perfect for unwinding after a long day. Just a heads up, the bathroom could use a little more updating, but it didn’t take away from my overall experience. 😊

a pleasant stay with minor bathroom setbacks
The warm welcome from Socorro made my late check-in seamless, creating an inviting atmosphere right away. Breakfast highlighted fresh ingredients like flavorful eggs and tortillas, setting a positive tone for the day. The serene back patio, filled with lush plants, provided a cozy corner to unwind and enjoy a moment of peace.
The bathroom's layout could benefit from some improvements.
